Join us June 6 at 5 PM for our monthly chapter meeting:

Social Media and Social Learning for Learning Professionals

A session of exploration into social media and social learning. We will define the two terms separately, and then examine the unique time period we are in right now, and how technology now serves as an enabler of social learning instead of a barrier. We will also examine the primary types of social media tools, sharing examples of how they can be used to support learning, and how they can be adapted for the individual cultures of each organization.

Format: This will be an interactive discussion facilitated by the presenter. Audience involvement is encouraged during the session.

Learning Objective: By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand the differences between social media and social learning, and the current convergence of the two
  • Learn about different types of social media tools and how they can be used to support learning programs
  • Explore and appreciate the changing environment in most organizations, and how L&D must adapt to it
