As a continuation of our April, 2013 meeting, please join us in finding out what it takes to be a successful training and development professional today by taking advantage of  this opportunity to learn even more about the
2013 ASTD Competency Model.

Format: Speaker presentation

Learning Objective: By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Define what training and development professionals need to know and do to be successful in the field
  • Understand the broad inventory of topics that training professionals need to know in today’s rapidly changing business environment
  • Discover key, specific actions to take that will help you to succeed
  • Comprehend the new ASTD Competency Model

About our Presenter:

Erin Murphy is the chapter relations manager, eastern area, for the national ASTD in Alexandria, VA, where she provides support and resources to more than 55 ASTD Chapters east of the Mississippi River. Prior to joining national ASTD, Erin served as the Manager, Chapter Relations, for the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada), and led a pilot program for the DC Metro Chapter at the Association of Fundraising Professionals. 

Erin has worked in the non-profit sector for over four years with previous experience in the political realm serving as an intern in the Office of  Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the Office of Bridget Prentice, a member of the House of Commons in London.  Erin is currently an MBA candidate at American University's Kogod School of Business in Washington, DC
.
