Keep Technology Distractions at Bay

 

Overview: Technology-related distractions and interruptions rob us of time, energy, and concentration, increasing stress and decreasing productivity. Learning and performance professionals can use the tools of their own trade to reduce distractions caused when technology takes over the workplace (or home).  This is especially acute during the holidays!

Format: Demo, Exercises, Hands on Simulations, Presentation, Q&A, Small /Large Group Discussions

Facilitator: Geraldine Markel

Geraldine Markel, PhD, is principal of Managing Your Mind Coaching & Seminars. She is an educational psychologist, former faculty at the School of Education, and former seminar leader of the Instructional Design Workshop at the Executive Education Center, University of Michigan, School of Business. She has authored numerous books on learning and productivity. Her most recent book is, "Actions Against Distractions: Managing Your Scattered, Disorganized and Forgetful Mind."

Learning Objectives - Attendees will learn how to:

  1. Identify the tech-related interruptions and distractions that create barriers to productivity and lead to stress.
  2. Select strategies to improve your attention, energy, productivity and work satisfaction.
  3. Develop an action plan to trigger, monitor, and reinforce your progress at keeping technology distractions at bay.

  • Chapter members = $20
  • Student members = $15
  • Non-member guests = $40 (Join now and save up to $25!)

Registrations are not considered definite or confirmed until payment has been submitted.

Cancellations & Refunds:

Cancellations will be accepted until 5 pm on Friday, November 28.

  • Cancellations received prior to this time/date should be requested in writing and sent to finance@a2astd.org.
  • Refunds will be issued either (1) by check (less a $5 processing fee) and will be mailed to the address on file or (2) transferred to the next scheduled A2ASTD meeting date.

Refunds after Friday, November 28 at 5 pm cannot be issued, but we will gladly accept a substitution should you wish to send someone in your place.
